During the Salone del Mobile 2019 Fucina presented a collection on a theme particularly dear to us Italians: conviviality. 3 designers, 3 different nationalities and identities from which 4 projects arise that approach the theme of the table in a totally different way. 4-legged table, 2-legged table, Table with central base. Rectangular, square, round tops and an elongated round. In all these projects, however, what wins is the workmanship of the legs which appear imposing and firm, contrasting the thinness of the tops. The sheet metal folds to take on a three-dimensional appearance for both the tables by Cecilie Manz and those by Jun Yasumoto. The “sliced” tube creates a bi-directional leg which modifies, depending on how it is assembled, the final appearance of the table in Maddalena Casadei’s project. The new finishes with particular invisible protections are the result of constant company research.

AFFOGATO by Cecilie Manz

Steel doesn’t have to be glacial and unapproachable. A rounded, warm shape can soften the stereotype: a bit like affogato ice cream.

PIANI by Jun Yasumoto

After creating the first Piani shelves, which demonstrated the validity of the assembly principle and its stability, I thought it was time to go beyond that creation, completing the family with some tables.

SILHOUETTE by Cecilie Manz

If you wanted to draw your idea of a “table” with a large tip marker, you would probably see something like this: a horizontal line with two vertical lines. And so here is this archetypal silhouette, with the added bonus of smooth details and extreme craftsmanship.

VERSO by Maddalena Casadei

Verso is a table that comes from the design of its leg. Depending on the “direction” in which it is mounted, you obtain a rounded table or a table with rounded corners, making the visual perception of the leg itself more or less light. The tension that is created between the leg and the top is the key to its incredible stability.
